Fun With Santa!

We found Santa.....for REAL!! Just look at that jolly old man, if he ain't real maybe we are blinded by the spirit of Christmas. Kyler told him he wanted a kitchen for him and Addie, and a computer. Addie said she wanted Mom!

Seattle Trip Comments!

Oh What An Uncle!!

The kids just loved having uncle tony here. Kyler wrestled with him for about 45 minutes one night. We will miss having uncle tony around, and look forward to the next time we see him.

What R We Up To Now?

Well, this weekend we have Tony in town. Tony is Christie's bro and Dan's bro in law, for those of you who don't know. Our friend Tyson brought over Guitar Hero 3 and we can't put it down. So we will see if Tyson can ever get it back. HAHA. This game is freakin awesome. Next week Dan is going to have the chance to try Rock Band out, and he can't wait! ROCK ON!

Christmas Decorating!

Here are some great pics of Kyler helping with decorating of the tree. All of our ornaments are child proof, so those are plastic balls instead of glass. He was such a big helper this year with Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Crazy story really quick. Dan was on the roof hanging the lights, and Kyler got scared of a spider in the backyard. Dan hears Kyler say that there is a scary spider in his castle, and it sounded close. So Dan turned around and there is Kyler standing on the top of the roof. Talk about a heart attack. So we got him down, and explained to him that kids don't get on roofs. Wowzers, what an experience. He now says that he will never get on the roof again!

Thanksgiving!

Here is a great picture of Kyler helping with the Thanksgiving dinner. This year all of our dinner was prepared from scratch by Christie, other than the rolls. It turned out great and it tasted so yumalicious!

Well I am impressed. Most of you got this one right!! It was our garage. The previous garage was a carport with a garage and the garage itself leaked worse than the carport did. It was a junker, so here she is in all her beauty!

Our Repainted Living Room!

Here are some pics of the newly painted front living room. Along with Christie's great mirror setup. We think it looks great and really adds warmth to the room. The room was a greyish tan before, and we call this grellow. In some light it looks green and in others it looks yellow, hence Grellow is born! What' cha think?

Kyler Diaper Change Adventure!

So here is Kyler's little buddy Barton. He decided that it was time for a diaper change, here are the results. I don't think much would get caught in this diaper, so beware of falling.....um you get it! HAHA!

Yeah 72% of you got this one right on the money! Photography is something that Chrsitie is realizing she is good at. We bought a new camera and wouldn't you know it, she hardly lets me use it anymore! No complaints from me, when your getting photos like these, how can you complain. Kyler, climbing a tree in his 3 year old photo, and Addie looking oh so pretty, in her 5 month photo.

A Couple Days In The Life Of The Madsens

Here is Kyler doing his yard duties! He is such a big helper, Dan goes and gets his rake and Kyler wants his to help....we aren't complaining!

We went to "This Is The Place Monument Park" for the kiddos Halloween extravaganza. It was alot of fun, and Kyler really enjoyed himself. They had a corn maze, train ride, face painting, and all sorts of other cool stuff. As you can see we just had a blast, and Addie loved it too!

Here are some pictures of Kyler riding his new sk8board! Thanks to Shawn & Kristen, he was able to pay for the board himself. HAHA. It was between this design and one with these mean looking dogs on it....and he told me "I want the one with the skeleton!" He actually does very well on it! We were impressed. We have some video that we will try and post soon.

Sunday Best

Church doesn't start until one so in the morning we have some time on our hands. Here are some pics of the kids waiting patiently (or at least Kyler). From the moment he gets up on Sunday he wants to go to church. We are having a difficult time getting him to understand we have to wait until there are people there.

In May Dan was at a young men's presidency meeting for our church. Kyler got his bike for Easter and still hadn't gotten the hang of it. I was sooo pregnant and took him over to our church parking lot. We worked on it the whole way there and by the time we got there, he pretty much had it. When Dan got back, we went back over to the parking lot and he was thinking Kyler didn't really have it down. He could not believe his eyes when Kyler rode across the parking lot unassisted! This is a picture of Kyler riding his bike with his "motorcycle helmet" on. A third of you got this one right!

Our Backyard Buddy

We were out tearing out our vegetable garden for the winter, and Christie spotted our backyard buddy. Ever since we moved into our home we see them at least once or twice a summer. We find that having the Praying Mantis in our yard is a good sign for our family, and our veggies. HAHA.

Only two people got this one right. Kyler tripped getting into our neighbors mustang. He was bleeding really bad and when I went to get Dan he thought I was probably exaggerating. Once he saw it he knew we needed to go to the hospital. Kyler cried at the hospital only because he wanted to get down and play hoops. He got nine stitches. It was a MEMORIAL DAY we will always remember.

You all got this one Right!! Inn On The Creek! Give yourselves a great round of applause! Here are two pictures from our wedding reception at Inn On The Creek. Cutting the cake...of course. And a funny one. A little bit of background on this one. We wanted an ice sculpture, but didn't really know what to have it of. So they suggested we think of something that is personal to us. Well, we love our turtles so we had a turtle kissing sculpture at our wedding. We are following the turtles lead. On an end note, the ice artist enjoyed sculpting turtles, because it was different. What can we say.

Yes, 50% of you got the answer right! Bertha is her name, and the Big literally means BIG! We put a picture of her up next to my 9.5 size shoe, and she is about 2.5" high. She is a big girl, and has been with us for 5 years. She is part of the family and deserved a spot on the blog.

Spending Time Together

We took another drive up East Canyon today and man what a difference from yesterday. Today there was no snow, and yesterday as you know there was snow. Also, we didn't need coats and it was Perfect! We had a small family home evening up at the lake, and also helped return some of the rocks from the shore to the lake!

Tribute To Comfort

I just waxed the cars today, and felt that they needed to have their time in the spotlight!! Also, I wanted a picture of our home with the white shingles because if the weather permits we are getting our roof re-done on Monday the 15th. WooHoo!

Autumn Day

During Conference today, we decided to listen on the radio and go for a drive. These pictures were taken up East Canyon, and what an amazing day it was for pictures. Beautiful is an understatement! Much to my surprise Christie has quite the eye for photography! She actually took two of the four pictures.

This is the reaction that I received, after I told Kyler to eat his dinner instead of drinking my lemonade. Wow, can we say ticked off! HaHa, isn't this reaction what dad's are for.....right?

Addie's new toy!

Can we all take a second out of our busy lives and bask in the joy that Addie gets from her new toy. I think sometimes we get so caught up in "life" that we don't really sit back and realize all that we have. It can be little things like, toiletpaper or toothbrushes. Or it can be big things like houses, cars, etc. So what does this photo say to me....be greatful for everything!

Big Brother, Little Sister!

Don't they make a cute pair of siblings? Kyler just adores his little sister, sometimes to the point of smothering.....well I guess it is a better option than him disliking her, right!
